I am a Lecturer in the English department at NSC, teaching composition, literature, and writing studies courses. After starting my career in a writing center during graduate school, I fell in love with working one-on-one with diverse writers. I’m passionate about giving underrepresented populations access to writing instruction that best suits their needs, which is why my research is dedicated to improving our teaching and tutoring strategies for multilingual writers.
My education is literature based, however, and I love teaching additional classes in genre and in diverse communities’ literature, like Native American Literature. Though my coursework at UNLV where I obtained my MA in English Literature was focused in cultural literature, medievalism, Romanticism, and the Long 19th Century, my expertise reaches beyond that into professional writing, genre studies, pedagogical theory, and writing center studies. I’m thrilled to be teaching at a diverse institution interested in social justice where I can utilize all of my expertise.
