Our scholarships at Nevada State are awarded to help you BE EDUCATED and succeed in the world.
There are two separate scholarships based on admissions types: First-Year/Freshmen & Transfer. There are three award levels within each of these scholarship types based on GPA. (see chart below)
In order to qualify students must apply to Nevada State for general admission by the deadlines listed below. There is not a separate application for the Scorpion Academic Scholarship.

Transcripts with in-progress coursework are expected and in most cases the AA/AS/AB degree will not be posted on these transcripts. Final transcripts will be required later to complete this process.

The Nevada State College Foundation awarded 100 scholarships to Nevada State students in 2022/23. For more information on the 2023/24 application and deadline, follow this link: Nevada State College Foundation Scholarships
Nevada State College will award a one-time $1,000 scholarship to new freshman students in their first semester of enrollment who served as an officer in their high school student government, applied for admission by February 1, 2023 with a 2.75 unweighted cumulative high school GPA based on final seventh semester transcripts received no later than February 15, 2023 and who enroll as a full-time (12 or more financial aid-eligible credits†), degree-seeking student. Applicants must submit the Leadership Scholarship Application including a letter of recommendation no later than February 15, 2023. Leadership Scholarship Letter of Recommendation Requirements:
This scholarship is available to new and continuing students. Nevada State College will provide a match of up to $500 total per semester total to students who receive scholarships from an outside agency (excludes any scholarships awarded by Nevada State College, NSHE, or the State of Nevada).
The match will be automatically applied during the semester to degree-seeking students with a minimum 2.75 cumulative NSC GPA who are making Satisfactory Academic Progress and are enrolled full-time (12 or more financial aid-eligible credits†). Award disbursements will be held until after the enrollment cancellation for non-attendance has taken place.
Eligible Millennium Scholars must be enrolled full-time (12 or more financial aid-eligible credits) to receive the $60 per credit award and may be funded for up to 15 credits per semester. (Remedial courses are not eligible for funding, but will count toward the full-time enrollment requirement.) † In order to qualify for any financial aid funding, including grants, scholarships or loans, a course must fulfill an unmet requirement for a student's degree or certificate program at Nevada State College.
