Share your passion for writing and literature

The Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a Concentration in English prepares you to work with children from seventh through twelfth grade in public, private, and alternative school systems. As an English teacher, you will have the opportunity to help young people learn how to write well, think critically, and solve problems. It is a terrific job for anyone who loves the written word and wants to share that passion with others.

It takes a dedicated individual to be a secondary English teacher. Your students will look to you for guidance and support when you challenge them to think about complex topics. Fortunately, you'll receive the highest quality training in the Nevada State College Teacher Preparation Program and participate in a planned series of field experiences. These experiences will allow you to BE CONFIDENT when leading your classrooms.
