Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Dollar Loan Center (DLC) Arena located at 200 S Green Valley Parkway in Henderson, Nevada. Doors open at 10 a.m. The ceremony will also be livestreamed.
During the event, we will follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, as well as any local, state and federal mandates that may be active on the day of commencement.

Yes. All graduates who register, regardless of their intention to participate in-person, will have their name read and grad slide displayed at the ceremony.
Yes. The ceremony will be livestreamed and all graduates, regardless of their intention to attend the ceremony in-person will be celebrated. Each graduate will have the opportunity to be recognized with an official slide that can be personalized with your photo and personal message, and which can be downloaded and shared on social media. This slide will also be played during the ceremony for those who are unable to attend in-person. You have the option to upload a photo of yourself to be added to your personalized slide. Details for how to customize you slide will be provided by March 1.
Yes! We know that our graduates’ families and supporters are many, and want to celebrate this momentous occasion from however near or far they may be. For your guests convenience and comfort, the commencement ceremony will be available via livestream.
Graduates will check-in upon arrival and volunteers will be available to direct you where to go from there.
Yes, all graduates will be offered the opportunity to cross the stage and be recognized by name.
No. Diplomas are not handed out at Commencement. Diplomas are ordered once all semester grades have been posted, remaining transcripts have been submitted and entered, and degrees have been posted to the student account. This process typically takes about 4 weeks after the semester ends. Diplomas will be mailed to graduates from the vendor approximately 12 weeks after they are ordered.
We ask that all graduates remain until the ceremony is over. The length of the ceremony will depend on the number of graduates, but estimate 2 hours.
Yes. Each graduate can claim up to five tickets via Marching Order. Tickets must be claimed by the registration deadline, otherwise they will be forfeited. Tickets are free of charge and required for family and friends to attend the ceremony. A graduate participating in a live ceremony does not need a ticket for themselves.
Children under two years of age, not occupying a seat, may be permitted into the ceremony. Any child under two years old must be seated on the ticket holder’s lap during the event. Children over two years old will require their own ticket and seat.
You can download and share your guest tickets when you register via Marching Order. Be sure to register prior to April 11 to guarantee tickets are available. Tickets must be claimed by the registration deadline, otherwise they will be forfeited.
Unfortunately, we must limit all graduates to a maximum of five guests. We do not expect extra tickets to be available due to the number of graduates and the venue seating. Should extra tickets become available, additional information will be emailed to registered graduates after April 25.
By registering for guest tickets, you are indicating your participation in the Spring 2022 ceremony. If you elect to not attend, your guest tickets will be forfeited. Students may not register to attend to receive tickets on behalf of another student. If you need to change your registration status, you can do so via Marching Order prior to April 11.
No. Tickets are free of charge and due to current requirements for special events, all guest tickets will be linked to the graduate. Selling tickets in this situation would violate the student code of conduct and could result in disciplinary action.
The NS Bookstore will begin selling caps and gowns in-person on March 22. Contact the bookstore at (702) 992-2340 or visit their location in the Rogers Student Center for more information.
Masters graduates will need to pre-order their caps and gowns by contacting the bookstore manager at Cierra.Littles@nsc.flywheelstaging.com and providing the following information: last name, first name, height, weight, phone number, and email address.
Caps and gowns are also available for purchase at the Nevada State College Herff Jones Online Store. In order to receive the items before the commencement ceremony, please complete your purchase no later than April 6.
Your GradPass stage card will be assigned to you virtually via Marching Order. Graduates must print and bring their GradPass to the ceremony. It is critical that all graduates have their GradPass when they get to the stage in order to cross and be acknowledged.
All graduates and guests attending Commencement are asked to keep personal items to a minimum. All articles brought into the facility will be subject to search, and this may delay persons from entering the venue. There are no secure places to store personal items before or during the ceremony. Small personal items such as phones and wallets must be carried in a pocket or a small clutch. No bags will be permitted into the venue except for small clutches (9″ x 5″ x 2″ max). Backpacks of any size are not allowed. View the Arena FAQ page and this list of Arena Prohibited Items for more information.
Contact the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at (702) 992- 2180 or drc@nsc.flywheelstaging.com to arrange accommodations for any graduate or guest requiring an accommodation, and for special seating for those who may need sign language interpreters. The deadline to contact the DRC is April 30. Failure to make arrangements with the DRC may result in inadequate time to put the necessary accommodations in place.
Parking will be available at the DLC Arena and surrounding area.
