Dr. Amber Morczek is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at NSC.
Dr. Morczek’s scholarship focuses on two main areas: violence against women and institutional corrections. Her research has been published in the following journals: Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Family & Intimate Partner Violence Quarterly, the International Journal of Cyber Criminology, Sexuality & Culture, and the Sexual Assault Report. Recently, she assisted with the review and revision of the Sexual Assault Advocacy and Crisis Line Training Guide – a comprehensive crisis intervention resource for Sexual Assault Service Providers in the state of Colorado.
Dr. Morczek has also provided lectures, workshops, and webinars for the following local, state, and federal agencies: Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Battered Women’s Justice Project, Latino Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and Washington State Department of Corrections.
When Dr. Morczek isn’t working, she is spending quality time with her two beloved cats, Plankton and Beluga.
