AnnaSheila Paul, MFA

I am a Lecturer of Visual and Digital Media and Program Coordinator for Nevada State College’s partnership with Truckee Meadows Community College for their Graphic Arts & Media Technology Program. The GAMT’s “3+1” program will ensure the continuity of TMCC students’ education all the way through their Bachelor of Arts degree, bringing NSC to the TMCC campus. As the “+1” in this partnership, I develop and teach 400-level (senior) classes as well as other levels. Prior to teaching for NSC, I also taught at TMCC, the University of Nevada, Reno, Academy of Art University (San Francisco), School of Visual Arts (New York City), and at various corporations training their staff on visual multimedia.

I am a Director/Producer, Game Inventor, and serial Entrepreneur, with over 25 years of experience in the Computer Art & Animation Industry. I started in this field by getting classically trained in the Fine Arts as a student, then going on to my Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Art and Animation. My visual media experience is varied, having worked on projects from museum installations to early CD-ROM games when multimedia was new in the early 1990s, to corporate art content, as well as producing and directing my own films/animation shorts, and game development. I have 4 patents for gaming inventions and have been a recipient of countless awards for computer art and animation, and also exhibited at art shows in various galleries. I have also worked on many published high-profile game titles, such as Family Feud, The Price Is Right, Back to the Future, among others. Having had several companies, I’m currently the Managing Member of Primeval Pixels LC, an innovation arts company providing computer art and visuals for entities and their prototypes, new inventions, intellectual properties, as well as special effects for video series.

As a lifelong learner, I’m currently going for another degree—a PhD in Information Technology in Education. I enjoy teaching karate, backpacking, camping, and teaching snowboarding on the weekends during the winter and spring seasons. I am also a member of American Mensa.
