Chris Garrett, Ph.D.

Bio: For over a decade Chris has directed professional development programs and taught in higher education with experience teaching at various types of institutions: community college, junior college, private liberal arts, tier-one research, and comprehensive public universities.  After earning a bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in American Studies, Chris taught English as a Second Language for two years at a private high school in Gotemba, Shizuoka, Japan.  Upon returning to the USA, he continued his academic training at Oregon State University (M.A., Interdisciplinary Studies) and Texas A&M University (PhD, English).  His doctoral work included concentrations in seventeenth-century devotional literature, religious studies, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.  His hobbies include pickleball, scuba diving, tennis, cycling, and music.
