James R. Jones, Ph.D.

I have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in criminology and criminal justice both from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. In addition, I also have a PhD in Public Safety specializing in criminal justice. I worked in the field of Juvenile Justice for approximately seven years in the capacities of Corrections Officer, Probation Officer, and Director of two juvenile jails in New York City. I also have law enforcement experience as a Seasonal Police Officer in Ocean City, Maryland. In addition to my practical experience, I have published two criminology textbooks, as well as multiple peer reviewed research articles. During my free time I enjoy traveling and attending sporting events.
