Teaching Spanish language at Nevada State College has presented me with the opportunity to work with amazing and diverse students. I take pride in facilitating the means in which they can become part of a new linguistic and cultural community.
It is my focus to foster second language acquisition of Spanish by having students interact in real world situations that require communication in the target language, while having them compare and contrast cultural aspects as they continue to learn. Another goal of mine is to enrich, reinforce, and maintain a proficient communicative level for students whose native language is Spanish.
My interests include Second Language Acquisition, Communicative Language Teaching, Heritage Language Learning, and Discourse Analysis.
