Thank you for your ongoing support as we rise to the challenges facing our nation. While you enjoy spring break, we are working to ensure your remote learning will be engaging and productive. We are also committed to extending our remote services beyond the classroom.
We have taken seriously, and are practicing, the call for social distancing. However, in recent days we have been encouraged to use the phrase “physical distance and social connection.” Nevada State College is embracing that phrase and putting it into action.

CEDI staff will continue to advise current and prospective students for TheDream.US scholars program through remote communication (e.g., text, email, phone call) and will continue to be available to meet with students, faculty, and staff through remote communication to consult about issues relating to diversity and inclusion. Our wonderful Writing Center is joining with the Blue Sage Writers Guild and local Nevada writers for Nevada Poets Open Mic, a remote open mic to be held every Monday night through Zoom. The Office of Student Life, the Office of Marketing & Events, and others are making plans to enhance Nevada State’s social connection in this time of physical distancing.
The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), working with the presidents, will be looking at additional policy considerations to ease the burden on faculty, staff, and students from this disruptive health crisis. As Chancellor Thom Reilly previously stated, we will rise together to meet the challenges we are facing so that we keep our students and communities safe and Nevada strong.
