Nepantla Peer Educators - Nevada State College

Nepantla Peer Educators

#NepantlaPeerEducators

If you are a first generation college student and are worried that you might not be fully prepared to succeed in college, our #NepantlaPeer Educators are here to help!

#NepantlaPeerEducators are upper-level undergraduate students at NSC who are also members of the Nepantla Program.  These students have completed the Summer Bridge and the First Year Experience and are involved on campus through student organizations, clubs, and/or jobs.  With diverse academic majors and interests, these students can help find on and off campus resources, be a support system, and provide feedback regarding major exploration, school-life balance, and growth mindset.

#NepantlaPeerEducators go through NASPA’s Certified Peer Educator Training to develop their leadership skills as they become agents of change and a support system.

Each new student will be assigned a #NepantlaPeerEducator who they will meet with throughout Summer Bridge and throughout the new student’s first year at NSC.  In a group setting or in a one-on-one meeting, #NepantlaPeerEducators also create and implement unique programming opportunities for students in the program.
